A refundable security bond is required. The applicable amount is determined through a risk assessment and confirmed before your rental is finalised. The bond is refunded after the e-bike is returned and inspected, less any outstanding charges, missing items or damage outside normal wear and tear.

Our 4, 8 and 12-week minimum rental plans are also suitable for international students and working holiday makers who need reliable transport in Sydney. After the minimum rental period, your rental continues weekly until the e-bike is returned. One week’s notice is required before returning the bike.

No. Legal power-assisted e-bikes in NSW are treated as bicycles rather than motorcycles, so a driver licence or vehicle registration is not required. Riders must still wear an approved helmet and follow the same road rules that apply to bicycles. E-bike regulations can change, so riders should always check the current Transport for NSW requirements before riding.
Cool Bikes rentals start from a minimum period of 4 weeks at $70 per week. Longer rental options are available at lower weekly rates, including $65 per week for the 8-week plan and $60 per week for the 12-week plan. A refundable security bond also applies to every rental.
Every rental includes the e-bike, free maintenance, regular check-ups, minor repairs, GPS tracking, a long-range battery, support, a lock and a helmet. The same essential inclusions apply across all rental plans, with only the minimum rental period and weekly price changing.
Yes. Cool Bikes e-bikes are designed for delivery riders, commuters and everyday transport. They are equipped with long-range batteries suitable for extended riding, GPS tracking and the essential accessories needed to help riders stay productive throughout the day.
Routine maintenance, regular check-ups and minor repairs are included in your rental. Our workshop operates Monday to Saturday, and we aim to complete small repairs as quickly as possible. More complex repairs may take longer depending on parts availability and the type of damage.
You can collect your e-bike from our store or arrange delivery within Sydney, subject to availability. Delivery fees and the available delivery window will be confirmed during the booking process.
Yes. All Cool Bikes rentals use original factory-built Vinxs e-bikes, which are permitted on Sydney Trains, Sydney Metro and NSW TrainLink services.
The NSW rail network only prohibits converted e-bikes—regular bicycles that have been modified with an electric motor and battery. Because our Vinxs e-bikes are purpose-built electric bicycles manufactured to meet the EN 15194 standard and approved for legal road use in New South Wales, they are not affected by this restriction.
