Compatibility
This lock fits through the rotor holes of standard disc brakes, which makes it compatible with most e-bikes, bicycles, motorcycles and scooters running disc brakes — including Vinxs electric bikes. Before buying, check that your disc rotor has holes large enough and positioned to fit a pin lock — very thin or narrow-holed rotors can be a tight fit. If you’re not sure your bike’s rotor will take it, send our workshop a photo and we’ll confirm before you order.
Installation Notes
- Push the pin through a gap in the disc rotor near the caliper — no tools required
- Clip the reminder cable from the lock to your handlebar, lever or cable so you can’t forget it’s fitted
- Fit the lock after you’ve parked and stopped moving the bike — the shock sensor will pick up wheeling and pushing, not just theft attempts
Workshop Tips
We recommend running this alongside your primary lock rather than as your only security — a disc lock stops the wheel turning and the alarm draws attention, but it won’t stop someone lifting the bike into a van. Pair it with a chain or folding lock through the frame for a proper two-layer setup, and keep a spare CR2032-style coin battery on hand so the alarm never goes quiet without you noticing. Always fit the reminder cable — it’s the single easiest way to avoid riding off with the lock still through your disc.
Will this fit my Vinxs e-bike?
Yes — Vinxs e-bikes run standard disc brakes, so the lock’s pin fits through the rotor the same way it does on most disc-brake bikes. If you’re unsure, send us a photo of your rotor and we’ll confirm before you order.
Do I need a key to lock it?
No — it’s push-to-lock, so you just push the pin through the rotor and it clicks shut. You only need the key to unlock it.
What happens if the alarm battery runs out?
The lock itself still works mechanically — you’ll just lose the audible alarm until the battery is replaced. We stock compatible coin-cell batteries in the workshop and online.
Can I use this as my only lock?
You can, but we don’t recommend it for overnight or long-duration parking. It’s best used as a fast, audible second layer alongside a chain or folding lock through the frame.
