NSW & Australian E-Bike Compliance
The GOAT T3’s standard configuration — a 200W motor with pedal-assist that cuts off at 25km/h, plus a throttle limited to 6km/h — sits comfortably within NSW’s current power-assisted pedal cycle rules. Under these rules, e-bikes with a motor up to 500W, an assist cut-off at 25km/h (or when you stop pedalling) and any throttle function limited to 6km/h don’t require a licence or registration to ride, the same as an ordinary bicycle. An approved helmet is mandatory, with a $423 fine applying if you’re caught without one. From 1 March 2029, NSW is introducing a further requirement: only e-bikes that meet the EN15194 European safety standard will be permitted for on-road use, alongside a reduced 250W power limit. The GOAT T3 is EN15194 compliant, and its 200W motor already sits within this future power limit. This is general information based on the current NSW road rules (transport.nsw.gov.au) and isn’t legal advice — rules can change, so check the official Transport for NSW e-bike page if you’re unsure, or get in touch with our Sydney workshop team.
Safety & Usage Notes
Charge the battery using the charger supplied with your GOAT T3, and avoid leaving it on charge unattended for long periods. Store the bike and battery in a dry, moderate-temperature spot when not in use, and avoid prolonged direct sun or extreme cold. Check tyre pressure regularly — properly inflated fat tyres improve both comfort and range. Inspect the brakes before each ride, especially after wet weather, and allow extra stopping distance on gravel or loose surfaces. Like most e-bikes in this class, the GOAT T3 isn’t rated for full submersion or heavy rain riding — avoid riding through deep water and dry the bike off after wet-weather use. Always lock the bike securely when unattended; see our alarm disc lock and Bluetooth tracker below. Wear an approved helmet every time you ride, and check your local road rules before riding on shared paths or in areas with specific e-bike restrictions.
Installation & Assembly
E-bikes shipped in a carton typically need some final assembly — usually fitting the handlebars, pedals and front wheel, and connecting the battery and display. We can confirm the exact assembly requirements for the GOAT T3 when you place your order. If you’d rather not assemble it yourself, our Sydney workshop can complete full assembly and a pre-ride safety check for you — just let us know when you order, or drop in and see us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the GOAT T3 have a throttle?
Yes. The GOAT T3 has a throttle, limited to 6km/h for slow-speed use such as standing starts — matching the throttle speed limit under NSW’s e-bike rules. Beyond 6km/h, power is delivered through pedal-assist only, up to 25km/h on public roads.
Is the GOAT T3 road legal in NSW?
In its standard configuration (200W motor, 25km/h pedal-assist cut-off and a throttle limited to 6km/h), the GOAT T3 falls within NSW’s current power-assisted pedal cycle rules, meaning no licence or registration is required to ride it. It’s also EN15194 compliant. See our NSW & Australian E-Bike Compliance section above for full details.
What's the real-world range of the GOAT T3?
The manufacturer specifies 65km+ per charge. Actual range varies with rider weight, terrain, tyre pressure and how much pedal-assist you use.
How long does the battery take to charge?
A full charge typically takes approximately 4–6 hours, depending on the battery’s starting charge level and charging conditions. This is a typical estimate rather than an official manufacturer figure — contact our Sydney workshop if you’d like this confirmed before you buy.
What tyre size does the GOAT T3 use?
20×4.0″ fat, all-terrain tyres, suited to footpaths, gravel and mixed surfaces.
Does the GOAT T3 have suspension?
Yes — hydraulic front suspension plus additional frame-mounted shock absorption for a smoother ride over rough surfaces.
What height rider does the GOAT T3 suit?
The manufacturer hasn’t published a recommended rider height range for this model. Our workshop can help confirm fit — get in touch or visit us in Sydney before you buy.
Does the GOAT T3 arrive assembled?
We can confirm exact assembly requirements when you order — most e-bikes we sell need some final assembly (handlebars, pedals, front wheel), which our workshop is happy to help with.
Can Cool Bikes service the GOAT T3 or supply parts and accessories?
Yes — our Sydney workshop can service, maintain and help source parts for the GOAT T3, including locks, chargers and other accessories.
What colours is the GOAT T3 available in?
Green and Black, subject to availability at the time of purchase. Contact us to confirm current colour stock before ordering.
